Looking for a friendly place to play Mahjong, enjoy a little competition, and share plenty of laughs? Join the Modern Mahj Society Fall League, proudly presented by Nebraska Wine Passport!

The pull is Mahjong, but the joy is the table. This league was created so we can gather regularly, play our favorite game, and enjoy guaranteed face-to-face time with good people. We’ll meet weekly for six weeks on Mondays, creating a consistent opportunity to connect over Mahjong, wine, and friendly competition.

The league is open to beginners and experienced players alike. While there won’t be a lot of guided instruction or structured play, everyone around the table is friendly and happy to help when they can. If you know the basics or have taken a 101, you’ll fit right in!

  • If you can’t make it one week, no worries at all! This is a very casual league. We simply ask that you fill out our designated absence form so we know you won’t be attending and don’t save a spot for you unnecessarily.

    If you’d like, you’re welcome to find a substitute to play in your place and help contribute to your cumulative score—but this is completely optional.

  • There will be weekly door prizes for those who attend! You’ll receive one raffle ticket for attending, plus an additional ticket for each Mahjong win that evening.

    We’re excited to partner with local small businesses to offer prizes you’ll love, along with fun Mahjong-themed items to spruce up your personal table.

    Each week you will play against other members of the league at assigned tables building a cumulative score for the season.

    For scoring, we follow a very modified version of the tournament-style scoring.

    Top 3 cumulative scores win prizes at the end of the season.
